CUT & PASTE INTO YOUR OWN CODE, OR ANY EQUIVALENT ACTION, IS FORBIDDEN AND WILL BE CONSIDERED A PRETTY LAME ACTION. But you can look at it as much as you like. We hope we haven't broken any copyrights, patents, trade secrets or in any way created harm to third parties. --------- Science-fiction: In the beginning, we scared you with "Pump". Now we hurt even worse with the sources to such thing. These sources are not meant to be compilable directly, there's a heavy reliance in our own low-level support library (see mentions to LOCAL\ in the makefile), but the specific demo code, mostly written during the Euskal Party, is here. Datafiles are in the release version of the demo. Don't expect hardcore optimization. Maybe there is, but you'll have to look hard to find it. Look elsewhere for commented code (well, at least if Jare wrote it). [Although he's pathologic commenting behaviour is getting better every single line of code - Yann] And, for a good example of what a demo should be, you're way off... But hey, you could maybe learn something of value in these files. At least, how to use DemoVT 1.6 under Watcom 10 to sync and create your own demo. :) --------- Credits: Most code written by Yann, Jare, and Captain Bit. Some stuff, and quite some inspiration, can be attributed to JCAB, COI, OLS, Kronos, ARM, Parasite and all the Iguana crew and friends around. WCGSL support library by Jare and JCAB, with lots of inspiration from other publicily available code by PSi, Tran, Faker, Patch, and many others. DemoVT 1.6 musicsystem by JCAB. [I must now herebye give credit to Snowman/Valhalla, because I actually needed to have a 'deep look' at Fluid-Motion to learn the phong thingy. I hope this clears my soul and ends all this horrible scary sleepless Snowman coming out of the night and killing nightmare nights - Yann] Most comments and lowercase by Yann, most "-----" lines and uppercase by Jare, most indentation by QEdit's autoindent feature. [Actually, using C makes Jare and Jcab use much more lowercase that they'd like - Yann] Batch files run by 4DOS, makefile execution by zmake and wmake, assembling by TASM, compilation by Watcom 10.0 and TP6, linking by wlink. Moral and physical support by Raquel (thanks!) and the friends. [If I may add, she can stand much more than I originally thought - thanks a lot! - Yann] Original "Party Coding Rules" lyrics by Flynn/Gore Design. Original idea for the smoke/blur part by Zyrinx (another Scavenger team) and not by Lemon as originally stated. Or so I think. x2ftp.oulu.fi creators/maintainers for showing that there's a reason to release information on the net. Big hi's to Supercoco, Aitor and the rest of the organizers of the Euskal Party, for making it possible in the first place. --------- Greets: A greet list is always a bad idea: all that are mentioned may think it's normal they are, but those that aren't may feel strange. So, greetings to everyone who reads this, we dedicate our work to all those who mean something special in our hearts and minds. --------- Contact address: Time passes and internet accounts change, so drop by IRC or the newsgroups comp.graphics.algorithms, rec.games.programmer and comp.sys.ibm.pc.demos to check if we're alive. Or ask someone who is already in contact with us. Big chances are the address will end with ".es", but this will probably be different in the case of JCAB. Big chances also that the username for JCAB and Jare will be the same, but remember, we're just brothers, not twins or some psychotic, split-personality type. --------- Wish list: * Euskal Party 4 invitation will be ready very very soon. * Free phone line. * Everyone will have monochrome monitors so they won't notice the special color choice in our demos. * Free internet account. * No more demos will feature the dreaded envmapped donut and duck. * Fast (> 2K/s) access to ftp.cdrom.com and x2ftp.oulu.fi at any time. * Demoparties will be succesful, all prizes paid and everyone happy, no more fuckups and harddisk stealers and comparisons and "my party is better than yours" arguments. * Time spent on IRC will not pass in the real world. * Future Crew, Triton, Nooon, PolkaB and CNCD will make a cooperation for a demo, which will actually compete and come second. Hm.... yeah, you wish. --------- Explanations: There can't be an explanation to such behaviour. We would have to lie. [ Ah, yes! the text file was originally written by Jare, and I, Yann, finished up getting the thing ready - and added my comments between brackets so that nobody could think I had written such a thing. I take more care than Jare not to write anything when I have taken drugs - Yann] --------- Bye:
