Pump's ReadMe file:
[I polished this file a little bit; the original is in the archive on the previous page.]
Pump 1.6.1
You use RAM Doubler® and you still need more memory space?
Try this ugly hackling. It allows you to patch all recent RAM Doubler® versions.
It knows of version 1.0.4, 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 1.5.2a, 1.6 and 1.6.1
For older versions, use the program MaxRAM.
Installation:
Launch Pump and select the RAM Doubler® init file you want to patch.
It lives in the Extensions Folder inside the System Folder.
Pump patches the init file in place, so make a backup first.
Restrictions:
- You can only set factors of 2, 4, 8, and 16 for RAM Doubler® versions after 1.5.1
- Pump won't help you with your fancy PowerPC -- it only knows of 68K code.
- The factor input is rather awkward, but with the right tactics you'll get it typed in.
